We will let you know at the outset our fees and expenses and making positive efforts to save you money by avoiding unnecessary litigation and negotiating a fair and firm settlement of issues. Most people going through a divorce or a separation are concerned about legal costs because divorce OR family law litigation can be very expensive, and the stress of additional expense is just about the last thing people going through a divorce or separation need.
In some cases a fixed fee may be appropriate, particularly where the case is simple and the extent of the work to be provided by the lawyer is foreseeable. We will also allow you to negotiate your fees and a payment plan in order to ensure that you do not suffer as a result of limited resources.
If you have a low income or are on social assistance, you may qualify for legal aid, which can help pay for some or all of your legal costs.
